Here's my idea. Why not assemble the 15 second AVI clips into a short movie (using whatever AVI editor you prefer) and store them on Compactflash. Then insert the Compactflash back into your Canon and, hey presto, you can play your movie direct to TV from the AV out socket.

Can this work? If so, do I need to use a particular Codec?

Yes, you'll need the M-Jpeg Codec to be able to use most video editors... you'll get a good codec at http://www.morgan-multimedia.com
