And a Happy and Prosperous New Year to you.

For those of us with weird and wonderful minds, the phrase "Happy New Year" brings up interesting thoughts...

If it is politically incorrect to with a non-Christian "Merry Christmas," is it also politically incorrect to wish a practicing Jew, a conservative Chinese, or other person who does not follow the Gregorian calendar a "Happy New Year." After all, they have different "New Years" on different dates than January 1.

Perhaps we should just wish them a "Happy Calendrical New Year."

Or should we just keep our mouths shut?

Or should we say the hell with it and wish anyone a happy anything we wish?

Nope.....I don't do drunk any more. I can't think of a worse start to a new year than with a hangover.

Still, have a splendid celebration, and make the best of 2007.

Likewise on the drunk part. That stuff is too expensive anyway (if you count the hangover and possible DUI arrest in it).

But I do think that 2007 will be a great year. Nowhere to go but UP!!

I have to work tonight. Wonder how many beers I'll have to pour for the hockey game. Go Griffins!

Have an awesome New Years.

Happy new year. Going with a family friend I've known since I was born (moms best friend), lame, but I didn't make plans before hand, and this is better then sitting at home.
Not sure if I'll drink or not. Usually when I'm drunk I end up being a total retard, so it's probably a better idea to avoid it all together. Plus, it's better for my health :D. We'll see though.

I recognize others have different holiday timetables, but mine is what I use to wish others a

HAPPY NEW YEAR

When their holiday arrives, I hope they do the same. :D How else do we learn?

Spending the evening with my wife of 29 years, quietly celebrating and preparing for the 14 or so coming for dinner New Years Day.

Definitly some alcholic intake scheduled. At home and safe.

May you all have a very successful New Year.

"We will open the book. Its pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves. The book is called "Opportunity" and its first chapter is New Year's Day."

So, here's to the wisdom to recognize Opportunity when it comes and the courage to embrace it! Happy New Year from New Hampshire!

Happy New Year! I went to bed at 11 p.m. I couldn't stay up. Have a great year, full of fun times and good health!

I made a resolution ;) I'm going to shoot at least one picture a day no matter what. I want to have 365 pictures of the year my family had. Should be interesting. :)

Oh, I agree. I just wonder why there's no bruhaha about wish people a happy or merry holiday except for Christmas.

Anyway, Happy New Year.

If someone is wishing me happy "X", where X stand for a tradition in a certain culture, why would I be offended by it, whether I share the tradition or not? Maybe we shouldn’t be so tight about these things.
