I received my 2 lenses (50 f/1.4 and 24 f/2.8) and the Hoya multicoated 58mm UV filters. Well the lens caps wont fit on the HOYA's The Hoyas come with a snap on cover that doesnt fit real well so I dont feel real good about that as a lens cover. What do you guys use, and are the canon filters good quality?

I have Canon UV filters on all of my lenses. They seem to be excellent and a good bargain at that.

Although B&W filters have a great reputation I've never cared for them, especially for wide angles since the metal lens mount is so thick. I do use a B&H soft filter - kind of a Softar knockoff - that's works great. I'm also fairly certain that I'll get a Canon Circular Polarizer before the summer. I'll need a 77mm size so I'll also pick up some stepdown rings so it'll fit on the smaller lenses.

I have Canon UV's and polarizers. They work just fine. No problems on any of my lenses.

Tiffen has been my brand of choice. Decent quality at a fair price. Almost anything made in Japan seems to be OK, but the made in China or Korea seem to fall apart.
