Hi guys, Im new in this forum, I like it a lot so far..
Simple question for some of you..
How can I get a photo with the background all black?

It might be so easy but I just dont know how to get it.

One thing that comes to mind is making sure that your subject is relatively close to you, the background relatively far away, selecting an exposure that is perfect for the subject, aiming your flash *just so* and then fudging the shot in photoshop.

Shoot your photo outside at night with nothing in the immediate background that will catch light. There should be no light outside as well (street lights, lanterns, etc.) that you don't want.

Then shoot with flash metered off the subject.
