The DRebel has a cheap wireless remote (RC-1). Has anyone come up with an equivalent for the 10D. The only solutions I've seen are $100s (like the RA-N3/LC-3 combo); much more than I'm willing to spend.
I'd be willing to solder if someone could show me what to do.

I know that someone in dpreview.com has posted their own wiring of a wireless remote. Give a search over there - you might find what you're looking for. I'm not sure if anyone here or in FM has posted on it yet.
good luck.

Thanks Ian,
Unfortunately, the components used are not available in the U.S. While reading that I did come across this one
http://www.iaw.com/~pturton/remote/index.htm - He's skimpy on details though. He's apparently modifying an RS-80N3 to allow a stereo jack input.
At the end he says As I mentioned, I had a radio remote controller in my junk box but I'm sure that many remotes
used with toy vehicles could be just as easily used.
Huh? What toy remotes have stereo jacks on them. I'm missing something......

Just check out your local Radio Shack or similar. They have quite a few parts for the budding electronics enthusiast. There is plenty of information in those posts to build your own, you just have to understand how similar parts may work and then modify them per your application.
If you find you're still without resource after reading those posts and checking your local or online stores for gear - perhaps it's a project better left to the pocket book and dedicated equipment (a mis-wiring could cause damage to your camera). I think you can do it though, without too much heartache. I'd do it myself but I'm quite content to buy the gear if I need it.
Good luck!

Awesome Jeff. I appreciate the links ... and the advice. Looks like I've got more research to do!
