Won't it create a donut "catchlight" in the subject's eye that will look rather strange?

I plan on buying one after the re-design... it should be back on the market in 3 weeks.
The donut effect is liked by many, the ring flash is great for model work and fashion. I like the effect is creates. Im going to try using them for portrait work as well.
Another reason I want the ABR unit is because I can also use it as a regular stand mounted with unbrella flash unit. Adding my final 4th light to my AB set.

I have one on order, suppose to be in stock January 15th or so. I was told all new orders will be the new design and changes.
Anyone wanting one before the next couplemonths should pre order now to get one of the new shipments before sold out.

So you can use these as a stand mount also? What does it compare with on a stand mount? The 400?
Thanks!

The AB Ringflash is based off the ab800 light. You can mount them to a stand as a regular light and they even sell a moon light which is like a softbox so to speak to go on it as well.

Now I am confused again! Gotta decide on a ringflash or the 800!
Why does this all have to be so confusing! hahaha :)

Its the same thing... Think of it as an AB800 flash unit, that also can double or has the ability to be a ringflash too. You can use it as a regular light as well.
Im looking for my 4th AB light, this is going to be it, since I can use it as my fill light, or a ring light... etc.
