I have a domain name and plenty of space - can anyone reccomend any good quality software that can create me an 'online portfolio' which I can then put online?

my current photoshop/imageready creation is too much work!

Have you tried Porta (to create and watermark the images) & SimpleViewer to display them on your site. Both are free

Porta can be found here: www.stegmann.dk/mikkel/porta

and SimpleViewer here: www.airtightinteractive/simpleviewer/

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the input both of you.

SimpleViewer is the kind of thing I am looking for, but I'm not so fussed by Flash sites. Know of any other non-Flash gallery softwares??

In that case just use Porta itself (without the "SimpleViewer" output). You can dictate in Porta how you want the final "album" to be handled - by Porta itself (in which case it uses pure HTML) or SimpleViewer (which uses Flash).

If you let Porta do it's own thing, it will still generate tiny thumnails, medium and/or large size versions of your pics, apply watermark, and create the HTML code to display them. All you have to do then is upload to your website!

[Edit: In fact Porta generates all the HTML code anyway, in case the target machine doesn't have flash installed]

Maybe it's late but you can also try Jalbum.

http://jalbum.net

I use both Porta and jalbum and like the new jalbum version better. You can add new albums to your existing one without having to redo the whole thing, that's one beef I have with porta.

I really like the look of simpleviewer. Although rather than adding it to pages, I'd like to put it in one of my pages already below logo etc. When I try editing one of them in there, keeps giving me errors.

Anything good and free out there I can edit into one of my pages? HTML or Flash.
