DIY Vagabond?

Thinking of building myself a mobile power supply for my WL1600 monolight using 12V battery and a 12VDC to 110VAC power converter for a car...
Am I dumb, or will it work? Anyone tried this scenario in a past?

I believe that the vagabond has a capacitor in line with the power inverter.
If you add one to your design then it should help with your flash recharge time.

You need a pure sine wave inverter. The one at CDW does not seem to be. If you don't get one that is, you could potentially damage your lights.

I suggest purchasing an inverter from Samlex, or one of the new inverters from alienbees. I think they will be available in about a week or so.

Also should say I test it running 2 AB800 at full power, and it ran very well. Model lamps off to conserve power,
