Thats how long the manual says the battery will last. But how the heck do they expect us to do that?
Does the remote have a timer on it or what?
i know i dont want to stand there for 3 hours pushing the button.

Use a wired remote and lock the switch after releasing the shutter. You do have to remember to unlock it after the 3 hours, though.

I've done a 30min exposure with the DRebel using a wireless remote. First push opens the shutter, second push (or camera shutter press) closes it. 10D wired remotes have a "hold" switch to keep the shutter open.

The 300D has a Bulb setting in Manual mode; I use a wired remote and it will stay open as long as the button is locked.
