racketman, I agree if the blurred flower in the bottom left corner was a bit darker the main subject would stand out even more.

Good shots. On # 1, a little micro reflector (a 1/4 inch or smaller piece of foil bent around a wire) can be used to put a highlight on the tip of the white stigma and give it visual separation from the white petals and a little more punch.

Irwin your suggestion is interesting, but I need a little more info on this.
Is this intended for flash photography or with ambient light (no flash used on the first shot)?
Also, my concern is that it may look unnatural; do you have any examples?

Spring is almost around the corner! Although it's 60 here today, and should be about 16.
