Since the 1D MKII is such a serious outlay will any of you be extending the warranty. Mack seems to be the underwriter in this field. I see on B&H and Adorama that you can buy the warranty seperatly from any new camera (within 30 days) and register it. The applicable warranty for the MKII (Pro Digital/3yr) at $4499, would be $139.00.

Two questions. Has anyone used Mack to rapair a camera? I see they have been around a very long time. The second kinda depends on the first question. Will any of you be taking this Mack Warranty route?

Of course!! There is no reason not to at that price need all the protection we can get.

Besides, I always get the MAC Warranties for lenses and bodies.

use American Express for the purchase it doubles the warrenty on anything you buy with it, up to five years. its what i always use on things i want to extend the warrenty for. All for your fifty dollar a year renewal fee.
