Just wondering if you could move the T&C to the top of the page?

I just spent 15 minutes reading 56 Q&A's and thinking "Wow, I'm gunna have a go at this", only to get down to the actual Terms and Conditions half way down the page: Condition 1, to find I am ineligible because I joined after 1 Nov 06.

COME ON !!! If it's not open to everyone, say that up front.

No inconvenience. Just very disappointed :cry: considering there are some really silly, waste of time Q&A's before the actual Terms show up. It would be better to but the T&C's at the top and the FAQ after.

Maybe put an eligibility Q&A at FAQ No.1 if it is so important to exclude certain members. Or exclude members after the date from which photos are to be accepted, ie, 5/01/07. Would have been fairer.

You're trying to personalize this in a way that was not intended. It's perfectly reasonable to have a cutoff date that predates the final date for submission. The intent of the book (as I understand it) is to serve as a showcase for existing POTN members---not new members who might be tempted to join solely to be published in the book. It's unfortunate that you're adversely affected, but it's ultimately fair as it applies to everyone.

Hopefully there will be another book in the future and you will be able to participate in it.

I am one of the Book Project Committee members. Your situation was inevitably going to arise when we specified a cut-off date. As Tom (belmondo) says this is nothing personal, just something we felt we had to do given previous forum history in running competitions and to make it fair to the many longstanding members given image selection will be anonymous..

I will have a look at reformatting the T&Cs and FAQ. I just hope you enjoy POTN enough to stick around for volume II ;)

IMO in fairness to all, if the cut off date was to be 2 months before the competition begins, you should have had a qualifying period where any member could pre-qualify or pre-nominate for enrty up until 6/11/2006. And no members, long standing or new, could enter after that date without having pre-nominated.

What you have done now is treat all members who joined after 6 Nov 2006 as though they are valued less.

I don't take this personally, and I am very impressed with this (so far) non-exclusive and highly informative forum which, unlike Sportsshooter.com, allows anyone to join.

I was referred here by members of tbk.fameflame.dk motorsports forum very recently. I am not here to leech off you people. I want to be involved as much as possible with like minded people who share the ssame passion as I do.

It is just plain bad luck that while I am trying to be a forum contributer, I have joined too late to qualify as a valuable enough member to be involved in your book.

No hard feelings, just a sense of dismay.
