Hi
I failed uploading an image for my signature from an URL and from my computer.
It is 499x89 pixels and under 17KB
I tried both with jpg and static gif images
The instructions for uploading images to the signature are this:
Note: The maximum size of your custom image is 500 by 100 pixels or 19.5 KB (whichever is smaller).
and some of the Signature Permisions:
Can Upload Images for Signature Yes
Can Upload Animated GIF for Signature No
Am I missing some information?
Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks in advance for any useful information.

I didn't think we allowed images inside Signatures.... Where are you seeing this? It may be that this was not removed in the last upgrade of the forum software?

I quoted that from UserCp > Edit Signature dialog boxes

Yep, I see that now, and tried using my avatar and got the same message.
Again, I thought we didn't allow this, but I can't find mention of it in the FAQ or Forum Rules.
I'll ping a mod who'll know for sure, and he might be able to see why that message is displayed. Note that hiding this message might not be possible....

I have the feeling that images are not allowed in signatures because I get the same message.

Images in signatures is turned off on this forum.
The message you get must be VBulletin not caring what the setting is, and simply displaying a generic message re: the default setting.

Thanks CDS. For a moment I thought I was going crazy.
Wait a second...

It is a bug. The signature picture box should not be displayed when the signature picture feature is disabled.

'tis not a bug, 'tis an "opportunity" (for software improvement).

Haha good one. I will use that next time my customer report a bug in my delivery.

Edit: Oops! Cadwell and tommykjensen posted while I was writing my post (Moderators write fast!)
Thank you CDS and tommykjensen. Also to Scottes and NickSimcheck. I will remember that. Anyway I think I will use my failed signature at least once in this post… :)

Please make sure this was also the last time ;) as the rules state signatures must be in the dedicated signature box.

Thanks again tommykjensen.
It was just to see what it would have looked like. My ‘standard’ signature is within the rules. :( ... :):)
