Was at Focus this morning and the very nice Canon man gave me the Mk2 to play with for five minutes.

I really, really, really do want it, but simply cannot justify it. I'm still undecided if i'm going to go for it or not. Late April/early May for first shipments in the UK.

Also played with a few other cameras, the 1Ds feels really dated now, but still packs out a great image.

I have re-planned my routes around the country to avoid shops that might be selling them, have given up alchohol so I dont order one on the Internet on a Friday evening after a few and have reduced the credit limit on my cards to below the selling price.

I was thinking with the money I could get when I sell my 10D + BIG ED, plus the money I could get by selling just about anything else I can get my hands on, plus if we stop eating till the release date....

I was thinking about selling next doors car, does anyone think they'd mind.

:D I didn't say I didn't want to buy one, just that I'm undecided if I can justify it to myself (and more importantly, the missus).

It was reeeeaaaaally nice by the way. Shall I say more, oh, it was lovely. Feels nice in the hand as well, already nicely balanced with its built in vertical grip. All the important controls fell to the fingers just right.

It was really nice, did I say that already ?

NiL, I would except for a few drawback that the 1DII has.

First of all it doesn't have an internal flash. Heck, for a $4500 price tag, you'd think Canon could put in a little flash that pops up whenever I shoot using the little green box mode.

And then there's that built in battery grip. It's non-removeable, which practically makes my little shoulder bag useless 'cuz the 1DII won't fit into it. After shelling out $4500 for the 1DII you'd think Canon would know that people won't have any money left for a new bag that would fit it!

Several hours later, I nailed one for 593.5.

Wife is no longer speaking to me. Grumbling :roll: :cry: :wink: about promising to take her out to dinnner or something. Gotta' get back in her good graces before she tells me to cancel order on Mk II.
