Hi,
I'm trying to update my signature with the addition of a new lens (24-70 f/2.8L) but when I hit 'save' I get a message back saying I can't have more than 5 lines. Well I keep on counting and still come up with only five in the text box. Am I doing something wrong?

Unfortunately the forum software have a strange way of counting to 5 in signatures. It use different parameters such as font, font size and probably other unknown parameters.

The only solution is unfortunately to try and fiddle around with the signature, fonts, and sizes until you can save it.

Sometimes I've gotten this error, and I cut-and-paste the Sig into a text file, and then cut-and-paste it back into the Sig overwriting the existing one. Of course this leaves plain text which needs to be re-formatted, so just make sure you select *just* up to the last letter in the line before applying the formatting. I think that it's easy to select the "last character" in a line which is the carriage return (ie; ENTER) and that causes it to go over a line.

Your mileage may vary.

Another tip...
Writing your Sig in the Sig editor doesn't let you see the formatting codes. Try entering a new PM to yourself and be sure to use the Adavanced Editor. Now you can see the formatting codes, and you might see how it's going over a line. Don't send the PM, but cut-and-paste the code FROM THE EDITOR BOX into the Sig editor box.

Those are good tips Scott. Thanks.
