Just looking for people's thoughts when using said filter. I set my 10D to either custom or fixed (depending on the conditions). Not sure it's wise to use Auto. How do you use WB with circular polarizers?

I have had some strange results when using Auto and on the basis I only tend to use them for increasing sky colour saturation I use the daylight setting.

While we are on the topic of Polarizers, could someone explain the proper use of them. I know what they are for but not exactly how they work. Anyone care to give a brief lesson?

I like the effect on the sky on a clear day--nice blue. Glare is minimized when taking pictures at a 90 degree angle to the sun and helps at other angles too. But I like using it best on overcast days because it really brings the colors out. I think the best useage is with a fixed WB otherwise, if in auto mode, the camera tries to compensate for the polarizer's color. Anyone want to elaborate on how they use WB with CPs?

I was always taught that a polarizer is neutral in colour - like a ND filter.
I which case it should not make any difference as it only increases colour saturation

Hmm I had found one too and some others on ND filters but that one is different. I'll have to give it a read through.
Thanks for the info.
By the way the Singh Ray website has some good information and example pics on the different types of filters. www.singh-ray.com
