How do you reformat your CF Card. I delete the images but this may not be the same as reformating it.
Do you need to make your battery for the 10D get completely run down befor charging or does it not have a memory and can be charged any time.

To re-format the card go to Menu and scroll down till you see format, this will do a re-format of the card and re-create the folder structure.
You don't have to run the battery down completely before re-charging but it does help. I would recommend having at least two batteries so you can totally run one down then use the other. It means you will always have at least one fully charged battery with you too - in theory

I'm having a little fun backing up Richard today 8) . It's always easier to add to a correct answer then clean up a wrong one. I would just add that you should always format the CF card in the camera and not on your computer.

And to top it all off,. reformatting in camera also happens to be the absolute fastest way to clear a CF card! :)
RE: Batteries.
Nickel Cadmium and Nickle metal hydride batteries both benifit from the "use them till there empty" cycle,. in fact especially NiCad, where if you don't you may in fact reduce the total life (total number of recharges) of the battery.
Fprtunately,. the BP511 and other good Camera batteries are "Lithium Ion" which do not suffer from this need to be drained. In fact a Lithium Ion battery won't even let you drain it all the way... :)

Actually NiMH doesn't suffer from memory effects. Supposedly newer NiCads are better as well, but in my house it's lithium ion or NiMH only so I can't say.
