Took a picture of one of those postcard optical illusions which works with a diffraction ridge pattern. Not suprisingly the optical illusion does not work in the pic. I then played with it in PS and found the rotation reappeared in an animated fade between PS layers.
You'll need to wait for the full animated GIF to load.

Thanks for the comments.
Made me wonder whether the LCD photoframes that seem to be the rage now will accept an animated GIF ?

Well, I'll be damned - an action still shot.
The neatest thing I've seen in quite a while. Thanks.
Tell us more about how it's done. It could be an interesting trick with sequential shots of someone as their expressions change quickly. Say, from smile to frown to smile. Set the cam to 5 fps while on a tripod.

Thanks for the comments all- Just thought it odd that the rotation effect reappeared like this.
Glen NK- the shot is an animated GIF file. You simply place the sequence of jpgs in a separate folder and then get Adobe Imageready to import them as a folder and you can play with the timing between the shots and the size (they are large) of the animation. When you are happy with the result you "Save optimised as" as a GIF file. Most web pages will then play the animated gif when you link it. There are other freeware animated GIF progs out there if you don't have photoshop (and hence imageready).
