We had some nice light yesterday arvo for a POTN Graveyard shoot here in Brissie. The late afternoon sun led to quite a few silhouettes of the monuments and fellow POTNers.;) Not you usual flat piece of land this one, very hilly, which made for some different angles. Comments Welcome.

Mmmm, I didn't quite look at it that way. You know - thoughtful, introspective and the like.:D But now that you mention it.

I really like no. 4, nice image. The silhouetted people work really well - great poses and great positioning right on the tip of a vanishing point. Although they are relatively small in the image the rest of the picture feels nicely balanced, not too airy. Well done.

Thanks for the comments guys. Here's another from yesterday. Big different from my usual stuff, lots of photoshop work to get to here. I was thinking along the lines of greeting cards etc. What do you think?

Number 4 leaves people imagining.... What are the grave-diggers -- or whoever they may be -- talking about?

I also love the first photo, except I'd like to see the twigs cropped out.

Thanks for looking and commenting. I did a series of images like no 1 all at different zooms 100, 200, 400, this is the 200 one. What drew me to this was the terraced effect.

No 3 is a blend of two out of three images in a 2 stop exposure bracket. One for the sky and another for the foreground. The mountains exposed the same as the foreground but this looked artificial so I masked them way for the sky version.

In no 4 I had two level adjustment layers, 1 for the sky and another for the grass. The grass was quite dark out of the camera and it was a snapshot so I hadn't bracketed. I wanted to bring out the grass to bring out the road. Leading lines and all that.

Nice series, I love grave yard photos. #3 is my favorite.

I love #2 and #4!
The greyish cloudy background gives an immense depth to #2, that might not have been possible in bright daylight. And #4 has a far-off n empty feel to it. The figures make for great models with perfect silhouette (... and no gravediggers them for sure, SYS! :) )

I like three and four and think number one should be wider. Nice shots.

Thanks for the comments guys. Here's a different treatment to number two that was suggested elsewhere by a fellow POTNer. A real quickie this time. Funny thing about it is that I did do anything to make it green, it just came out like this as part of the process. Edges are a little rough still so more work needed I guess.
