A random selection of pics from the Blackpool vs. Aldershot game on Saturday. Of course, we all went there for the upset, and once it looked inevitable that it wasn't going to happen, the story became rather redundant so I started looking a little bit further afield to make it a worthwhile shoot!...

1. First Blackpool cele, from the far end, but I liked the background so decided to leave it in!

2. Safe and standard head-on action shot.

3. Again, I liked the fact that a Burger Van was sitting just 5 yards from the corner flag here...and pleasingly this got used in The Observer! Just goes to show...you never know!

4. Linesman's running has mushed up the sideline.

5. Marcus Gayle header shot, taken nice and tight on the 400mm.

6. Fans enjoy (?) a pre-match cuppa.

Anyone else got some 'different' FA Cup pics? The 3rd Round lends itself to this sort of stuff! Thanks for looking.

Superb stuff Si, gotta love the positioning of the burger van!

Favourite for me though is #5....lighting is brilliant.

Oh and the look on the face of the chap on the right in #6. I'm guessing he doesn't like sugar in his tea!?

Thanks Paul...I know, the last one vaguely reminds me of the Lou & Andy sketches in Little Britain..."I don' like'it". Although the big games are always a challenge and you get to shoot the stars, the smaller grounds often seem to provide you with much greater freedom to roam, and hence the opportunity to find pics slightly diffeent from the norm!

Thats a good call on the Little Britain sketch!

I know what you mean about the ability to wander, was looking at Matthew Ashton's archive website earlier and he's done this at the smaller grounds, lots of wandering around and "different" pics. More photojournalistic than the typical action photos.....but definitely great viewing.

I've been trying to get the more more photojournalistic to add to the normal action shots. I'm not very good at it.

Nice shots btw :D
