I was wondering, does the Life-Size converter work with other lens ? I know it said it's for the EF 50mm f2.8 macro lens, but I heard that it also work with other lens too

If it does work, does it actually reduce light or image quality ?

read the sticky on teleconverters.
it will work with other ef lenses, yes. i think you lose one stop, but i think you also suffer little IQ degradation.

It "fits" any lens (at least any I've tried it on) as there is not forward protrusion like the Canpn T-cons have that would prevent it from fitting.
AF functionality is a crap shoot.
It does not report it's presence to the camera, so the camera does not know about the loss in f/stop ( a little over 1 stop from memory) but I find that it often causes sever hunting even when the f/stop would be well within the cameras ability to focus.

Do you get a 1:1 magnification with the 100-400 + the TSC ?

I have no idea how to do the math for that, but I doubt it.
Ask Lester ;)
