Once I finally found it, nice.

Spetacular colors, very good macro.

All in all, an excellent first post.

Please.... be gentle

Well, with a shot like that, I'd find it hard to be gentle.

That was GREAT! I love it.

On the other hand... The image was too big. Huge. Please set it to 500x500 or less. You'll also end up with a better picture, since you have total control over what we see and don't have to hope that the auto-resize does OK. Smaller images can hide some flaws, too, like noise. And you save people from downloading too much.

But keep it up!

Nice shot, unfortunately you've got a web page that doesn't allow it to be posted. You need to use URL tags instead of IMG.

From a technicle stand point the picture is a gem...but i personlly just dont find house flies all that apealing.

Ya know?

Ya ever try to capture one in a macro like that? Brings a whole new meaning to macro photography. (I'm also not a fan of bugs of any kind, really.)

No i'm fully aware of the dificulty here, thats why i said it's a fantastic photograph, just not all that apealing to me.

The antenna, rounded trailing wing edges, segmented body, and legs tend to make me lean toward some sort of very small bee if I was pressed for an identification. Then again, I'm not an entomologist. :)
Beautiful capture, the colors in this shot really work for me.

btw Jim I dont think its a bee nor a house fly , probably one of those live-for-2-days-mate-and-die type flys :)

For me, the real beauty in this shot is the heart of the flower, the colour and detail are just lovely and I like the tight crop. When I shoot this kind of thing I am always tempted to get the whole thing in the shot you know, with the middle of the flower in the middle.... Here it looks like the fly/bee/creepy crawley thing grabbed your attention and looked for a staring role. In the end, the flower is the main star. Looking at this shot has taught me something more about composition.

Thanks

Martin

I have to say that while I agree with not being a fan of bugs typically, the composition of this pic is great. The flower is brilliant and the tight crop works well - the shades of blues and purples in the flower against the warm center are great. Kind of makes me wish I could find such an attractive place to live.
