I almost posted this in 'For Sale', but it's so clean and organized in there I figured someone would get his feathers ruffled over that.

I've been shopping hard in the classifieds, and I've been very happy with the selection of goods offered. I'm also happy with the level of persons that seem to frequent this site. However, before I part with many hundreds of dollars, I'm going to need some reassurance that I'll get what I paid for. So I go to the 'feedback' thread.

The problem is, it's huge and not catalogued in any way. That means I have to search for a seller, not by username, but by keyword. Sometimes that returns a tidy list of posts praising that user for a sale. Sometimes not.

What I suggest is simple. If you're selling, and you have feedback in that thread, why not link to the posts? You can copy the URL from an individual post using the numbered link at the upper right of each. Then post a list of links in your for sale thread. That way we all have instant access to your feedback. You might even put a line in your signature, something like this:

My feedback: 1 (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showpost.php?p=2507884&postcount=1), 2 (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showpost.php?p=2507884&postcount=1), 3 (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showpost.php?p=2507884&postcount=1)

At any rate, why not make it easy for your potential buyers? Just a thought.

Happy shooting.

Wow I really like this Idea it seems like a good idea but then there are people like Ronald S. Jr. who have sold and bought dozens of times here and it would take up to much Sig space for this to be done

Sure. He's an exception, though.

Use the "search thread" tool at the top of the feedback thread> enter the user name about whom you are inquiring and voilą, a list of posts that mention that user :-)

I think this is an excellent idea for those with a previous history and comments from others. Sellers would only help themselves by doing such a thing.

But a search would STILL be recommended! What if the seller decided to not list the one or two bad reviews they got from folks?

So, in the end, you really want to just do a search like Skip says.

That's a good point. I hadn't thought of that. Does anyone post negative feedback, though? The thread is called "Positive feedback", after all.

I'm wondering about that too. I wonder if it would be easier to have one more thread for Negative Feedback. Would make it easier to classify it.
