melbourne street shots...

went to melbourne over xmas and nye for a week...
took loads of fotos...
here are 3 of my faves... did similar shots to these 6 months ago too..

I love the night shots! I have always wanted to go and do that myself, but i can hardly get my family to come w/ me to any city at night, at least Philadelphia anyway. #2 really caught my eye with the blue lights.

Verty, you should try a hookup with Marty_Oz or Choderboy - they take a lot of graffitti-type shots like your #1 and are both Sydney based.

Good shots - very clear and easy on the eye.

Nice, I like #2.. shot that a few times with a 10-22 myself.

I noticed you were at ISO 1600 f/10.. I'd use ISO 100 f/8 and simply use a very long exposure on the tripod to blur the water, and reduce noise in the image. DOF is generally not a problem with the ultrawide lenses.

Like the star effect in your last photo as well. It's a streetlamp but almost could be mistaken for the moon if not for the metal arm of the lamp.

the reason for the ISO 1600 is simply cause me and my friend are in the picture.. i didnt wanna do a long exposure because we couldnt stay still and it would look abit blury... idealy i would shoot a scene like this at ISO 100 if people were not in it :)

Good point.. I'd just have to tell my friend to sit still for a few more seconds ;) (that scene is around 15-20sec using my settings)
