View Full Version : Saving exif Data ,,, help please

Hi all I'm kind of lost ,,, I usually process raw files in Shooter essentials but I lose my exif when I convert to tiff, so I tried processing a raw file in Adobe CS2 , worked the file converted it to a Jpeg , and still had my exif intact , now if I want to do any other work in Adobe I open it as a Jpeg do the work then it wont let me save it as a Jpeg unless I save for web then I lose the exif again ,,, anyone know what to do to help me Please

Are you saying that when you open the converted JPEG file, do some work, and then try to save it the "Save As" option is grayed out and your only option is "Save for Web"?

it won't let you save as a jpeg again? That probably means you are in 16 bit mode and need to be in 8. Try that and save as a jpeg. Or it could mean you hvae multiple layers and you need to flatten it and then save as jpeg

Would it let you Save for Web if you're in 16 bit to begin with? The OP was also stating that they were working on the converted JPEG so I assumed 8 bit, but I guess they could have converted to 16 bit..... :confused:

Glad to got it sorted out because the steps you laid out and your results didn't seem to make sense.
