C&C please. This was my first time out using the two flash setup, it was fun but took some practice.

In my opinion, i would say #1 could use a littel different angle to see his face and not just a butt. #2 the shadow on his face was a little distracting at first glance, so maybe a flash on the camera. #3 is a cool capture, but it seems as if the rider is a little blown out. hope i was of some use, the shots look like fun shooting those riders with a two flash setup.

they were fun! and the flash was fun to see what worked best. I had a flash on camera and one away. I still need some practice but that will come in time.
As far as different angles go, its hard sometimes trying to get someone to do something so risky multiple times...but next time out!!!
Thanks for you opinion, its really appreciated.

#2 & #3 are good, as above has stated different angle is probably a good idea on #1!
You have done well on the third image, with your new flash system!
What is your setup? Camera and flash wise?

You need to work a little more on flash placement and composition.

Yeah It is hard gettin the riders to do exactly what you want. I just got a 580ex and still learning how to use it well. wish i had a two flash or even three flash setup. Just take a crap load of pics from a bunch of angles and learn from yourself which spots in what situation works the best. I havent shot much more action than skateboarding but i have a friend that rides dirt and i have been tryin to get him out for a shoot. best of luck! keep posting and learning. a lot of guys on here can really help make a difference.

my setup is 30D w/ 15mm Sigma, 580 and 430 ex's. ya i really need to work on flash position. but right now i don't have any stands to get them off the ground, i think once i get those (or someone to hold them for a bit) it would make a vast improvement.
the first image he is doing a 360 so it was hard to really tell where to setup and then when to fire...the LCD can be mis-leading.
it is alot different from the on camera flash for sure, but i am gonna get in a lot of "seat time"
thanks guys!

Pretty cool...what did you use to fire the second flash?

the 580 works as a master for the 430...but this was also where some problems came up. i had to keep the 430 in line of sight to the on camera(580ex) so it would fire. since it uses infrared. thus somewhat limiting my placement options, but with a stand it should be much easier.
the infrared works great indoors, don't let me talk it down. outside it doesn't have anything to bounce off of. whereas indoors it can bounce of most anything...
