I am looking for a spare BP-511 lithium battery. I have found numerous sites, but none of them seem to have a separate battery charger. Is there a specific charger for this battery (to charge it outside of the camera)?
Thanks.

Yes, there is an external charger, but I don't have it's number with me right now... will check at home for you...

Go to www.batterybarn.com. They have batteries external chargers with adapters for autos at prices less than oem. I have the Lemar Mach 1 charger and its companion battery and have been well satisified.

Here are a few aftermarket chargers I was looking at. They all claim to work with the BP-511.

I use the Lenmar Mach 1 speed charger. I have had it about a month and it seems to work just fine. It charges the battery in about 30 minutes and claims "to greatly extend the life of your battery." It comes with a bunch of other "plates" for other 7.2V Li-Ion batteries (JVC, Panasonic, Sony). I did send Lenmar a question about some other batteries I have, but evidently their 'reply' button on their email doesn't work :(

In New Zealand we pay dearly for goods like this I priced OEM batteries at $155 and have inported an after market one from MahaEnergy (www.mahaenergy.com) for $39.95 about 80 of our dollars it is better value by far powering my G1. I've also used their AA's for a previous Dig.Camera
They also price a Universal charger but seems pricey compared to others I've seen listed Cheers 2 all Rob

Hi
Any suggestions for where to get the battery of the G2 in the UK?
7day shop has proved to be useless as they have been out of stock now for about a month.

Hi
To answer my own Q - got one for 18 pounds plus postage from a guy on ebay as recommended by the G2 Yahoo group.
Just waiting for it to arrive now.
