Any beginner tips for this? She's white/cream/brown ... blends into everything even when I give her a nice backdrop!

Take her out into the garden or park, she'll stand out beautifully against the green grass (assuming it's not too wintery!).
Indoors a black (or other dark colour) background would work well for a more "formal" portrait of the dog.
Look forward to seeing your shots.

Thanks Nick :) I think i'll have to try the black ... Winter in Canada right now ;) All my outdoors are white, or when it melts there's hardly enough contrasting colour.
Cheers!:)

Robukican: here's an example of a dark BG with a light colored dog--hope it gives you some ideas.

I reckon the hardest part is bringing their eyes out without washing out their white hair. Sorry photo not a good example.

Goldens look great in the grass or snow. They're especially beautiful in the water.
