There is a natural cycle that governs all living things. We are born, live and die. We expect death in its time and, while we greet it with sadness, we understand. When death comes too quickly and unexpectedly we are unprepared.

Chloe was just two years old and was diagnosed with sarcoma. In two weeks the cancer took her. She was my constant companion.

So sorry for your loss - it's never easy to say goodbye to those we love.

I don't think we are ever prepared. I lost my cat of 16 years last May, I had spent several months preparing myself for the inevitable - he was old and he had diabetes that was getting out of control. He died in my arms, and it was so hard to take. Chloe is absolutely beautiful in this image - my heart goes out to you, but you are so privileged to have had such a lovely companion, even though it was for a brief moment in time.
