Hmm, well I bought my camera off of www.ebay.ca, and all my other equipment was picked up in store, but the store ships as well: www.henrys.com

This is the worst part about this forum.. Do yourself a favor and set some purchase guidelines for you and your wife before you start hanging around here too often, or else you'll spend every cent on gear!

Good Canadian website is cameracanada.ca
But as a Canadian living in Canada (go figure ) I usually order from New York City from a store called bhphotovideo.com (http://www.bhphotovideo.com) and I have saved from $150 CAD to $400 CAD buying from them then buying locally at the only store in my city, McBain Camera.

This is speaking from a best practice standpoint more than being an experienced camera equiptment buyer plus I don't live in Canada. 1) do your research and pick the lens you want (don't settle for a "good deal" on something that you don't really want) 2) look on the manufacturer's website for authoirized dealers (you'll find that the Brooklyn bate and switchers and other swidlers are not authorized dealers, not always a perfect solution but the vast majority of authorized dealers are reputable) 3) go to the dealer's websites and compare between those and pick one that gets you the best deal considering price, shipping, return policy, etc.
As a footnote I always check out online retailers at resellerratings.com, great site to share purchase experiences and see what other people think (for example 2900 people rate the previously mentioned B & H photo a 9.62 out of 10 which is excellent)
I'm sure there are many differing opinions out there, but that is my two cents.

To my knowledge (which may not be to much) the closest to it is "L" coholics Anonymous....

Yeah, I've heard those voices many times before. I reckon most of us have at one point!
