Messing around with a new lens today (Sigma 18-200). I didn't intend to do anything with the shots...just wanted to make sure the lens worked OK. Decided to play with one of the shots a bit. I spent all of about 10 minutes on this but the end result kind of grabbed my attention. Thoughts?

I like the Blue against a Sepia Background idea but other then that i dont really care for the photo.

The angle isnt appealing in any real way. If you were to maybe include all of the headlight on this side it would help, but that it is a maybe. Also the antenea being stripped like it is, is very distracting, same with the lamp post head, and the wire.

Go out and play with it again tomorrow. When i first got my camera there are a lot of photo i put in the trash can and prayed no one would ever see. There is a learning curve on all of it.

Thanks for the comments. I appreciate good honest feedback and all of it sticks with me. When I resized these, the antennae came out looking that way (original does not), but again I don't plan on keeping the shot. I do like the overall effect and will play around with composition a bit more.

This is a good idea, but I would try a different angle and get the front bumper in the shot aswell. When you're doing the sepia background maybe change the color of the sky that is visible through the windows also.

not sure what program you used to resize, but i found DPP (canon bundled software) to do a good job at resizing pics without causing that aliasing effect.

need to get a lil better with outlining a object. i can see spots all around the car that you missed and the antenna looks funny but i do like the colour sceem but not the angle.

1/ you cropped the nose off of the car.

2/ you can see trees coming out the top of the bonnet and there is a lampost coming out the top of the roof.

3/ you have taken the shadow side of the car

4/ the selective colour/sepia makes a bad photo even worse

5/ the border serves no purpose, looks silly

i agree with everything here. in addition, the photo looks very oversharpened unless its my monitor.
