Does anyone know if, like the EOS 1V, that you will retain autofocus at f8 when you use the 1DMKII with a 500mm f/4 with a 2x converter? I could not find it in the tech docs...

YES!

All of the 1D models AF up to f/8 :mrgreen:

On center AF area only.

Man 0 man, I have not experienced that yet....that will be something to toy with....one of many features...
