Picking locations for photos?

Hi all. Is it the photographer that chooses the locations or is it the bride and groom that chooses places? Also, I was looking on the "trash the dress site", and saw great work, how do you ask the bride to do that? These are prbably stupid questions, but it's kinda buggin me.

I let the clients choose their locations. I show up wherever they tell me.
If they ask for my opinions on locations, I tell them, but I don't try to influence there choice at all. So unless they ask, I say nothing.

Also, trashing the dress is usually done AFTER the wedding is done. Since most brides will never wear their dress again they figure they might as well trash it and get some dramatic photos out of it.
