Great shot! I have a similar one, shortly before my DSLR got drenched! (still works too, btw!) So, is that from the Vancouver Aquarium, by any chance? In my beloved (and now a disaster zone) Stanley Park?


As a matter of fact, Kryssee it was taken at Vancouva Aquarium... good eye.
My mom lives in Abbotsford so I visited there from The Caribbean last year.
And yes I did actually have a whale of a time..:lol:

Well, glad to meet some one with "Valley Roots"! Here's my Beluga shot (not great, but the same beluga as yours!)..before and after the soaking! I suppose the next time I bring my bery expensive to an aquarium, I will not sit in the extreme splash section! Poor little one next to me had a great scream..when her mom, and my good friend, instinctively used her as a sheild to block the splash..haha So, my cliche is..

"Hurtin' FROM (not for) a Squirtin'!!"

"Hit the road." :D It was a cool rainy week day on the Northern end of Vancouver Island your basic "out in the sticks," kind of place. Only had to dodge a semi once when I went out to the middle of the bridge to check for fish.

Its a salmon river. With fishermen everywhere it wouldn't be too unlikely to find them on the bridge.:)

Yup Flounder, "platicthys stellatus," Starry Flounder; had a look at a fish book and another photo I have of the filleting process. It had prominent dark bands on dorsal and tail fins which according to a photo in the book make it a ringer for the Starry fellow.
