I just got my Hoya R72 today, but haven't had time to fool with it much yet. I snapped a couple shots, but they had a LOT of noise in them. Any suggestions for where to start with the settings to reduce some of this? Thanks!

Longer exposure time creates more noise. (CCD heats up)
Higher ISO creates more noise. (Noise is multiplied along with the pixel values.)

You'll have to test to find what works best for you, but generally, strong daylight and low ISO should give you decent results.

Here are my first two earnest attempts at getting a decent shot. Yesterday it was really overcast and glum out. It was actually really sunny today and these turned out MUCH better. Like I said in the G forum post, it isn't interesting, just a bush in my backyard, but I'm happy with the results and think there is a lot potential!
