It is easy to "lose" them isn't it? I keep browsing through last years folders and keep finding great pics I'd fogotten all about.

Thanks Mark- :)

Not exactly lost- I'm doing my sorting ready for archiving- I normally only keep the pics I've already processed further (in date folders) but when I looked at these I wondered why I hadn't processed them further at the time- anyway it makes a pretty boring process (file sorting and moving) a bit more interesting when you make some "finds"

Thanks Pete _ I liked the way the damsels came out- did cheat with the second pic by rotating it 90'- just made a more interesting composition. Glad the spider is not a jumper- looks as if it's ready to pounce. :)

Thanks RM :)- Hebes are great for attracting insects and look good in the pics but can play havoc with exposures.
"Excellent as always."
Thanks Artur :)- One of the benefits of having the time to take lots of pics- bound to get some right!
"I love that first one with the broken (indented) eye. The others are great as usually."
Thanks David :)- Just wonder whether that was a flying accident or a predator attack.

Excellent shots, especially the 'one end' and 'soldier fly' images. How on Earth did you miss them!

Did actually wonder that myself but I suspect it happens when I get shots of something new on the same day which tend to be more interesting than shots of something you have got before. At least this way I get a second chance of perhaps a more considered view of the shots. Only trouble is I always seem to be 6 months behind (taking new shots is always more interesting than sorting through old ones).

They are all lovely shots but I really like the little orb web spider shot and the damsels of course.
Now is probably the best time to go through last year's shots as the weather has been so appalling - its just a case of getting in the frame of mind to do it lol.

Thanks Richard and Linda- does make it a bit more interesting when you can make some finds :). You are certainly right about the weather Linda- think Yesterday was the first day for ages when I didn't take a single pic.

Some excellent shots as always Brian.
Love the spider's pose. The red ants looks great too. They are so much more hairy than the black ones we have, slightly more 'bite' though if I remeber right. :)

I'm not quite Six months behind, but I'd say 3 months, although I don't shoot as much as you do...processing the images bores me after a while...

Having a bit more time on my hands than you do- I tend to process the images that interest me on the same day as shooting and normally post them on say FlickR the same day. I also tend to delete outright bad shots then. It's all the rest that I have a problem with which I deal with whilst I'm getting ready to archive the shots.

Yeah...but even if I was retired, I'd still get bored with processing images. I need to learn to be more harsher on what gets looked at, and what does, so that I cut the number of shots down, and the amount of post processing. I've got images for 3 or 4 months ago that I haven't even touched for 3 months lol. Newer images from the past six weeks are currently being done, especially since I can't really do too much with the camera at the moment. I'm hoping to get all post processing done by the time I get my gear back from Canon Australia. Outstanding shots usually get processed by me on the day, but they are few and far between. Average shots to very good shots get converted to TIF usually on the day I took the shots. I am getting better in that I delete useless shots usually either in camera, or in DPP when reviewing. That's better than I was at the beginning of the year, when I kept *every* single shot lol...
