Hello All,

I am just about to purchase 1 of 2 lense packages:

I am going to get a 17-40L and 70-200 F/2.8L

Or I can buy a 70-200 f/2.8L by itself.

I am leaning toward the first choice.

Do you mean the first package is the non-IS version and the second package is the IS version?

i would say go for your first choice. i had the 70-200 f/4 and the 17-40 and just kept saving up until i could upgrade to the 70-200 2.8 IS. I would have missed a lot of good shots if i had just bought the 70-200 2.8 IS first. That would also give you a wide angle lens, compared to what you have right now. Plus with the lenses holding value like they do, i actually sold my 70-200 f/4 for more than i paid for it!

Now would that be a big overlap for the 75-300???

If it was me I would go the first choice unless you have a real specific need for the 70-200 f2.8 IS such as shooting weddings.

Yer I have sold the 75-300, going to be using the 70-200 for sports and car shows same with the 17-40L.

YEs, in your case the first option + sell the 75-300 IS
