Was out the outher day birding when this flew over and frightened the birds away.

I agree, and ISO800? The sun is out, ISO100 would have been a better choice.

Really nice capture, it allows us to see the evolution of the rotor blade as to the fact that most are straight these hace a paddle like at the tips, probebly to make them more responsive in the collector......really nice shot! D.

And such a lovely sound they make, like a sweet whistle :) The nicest sounding helicopter I've heard to date

Hmm maybe they just shut the engine off for a moment to enjoy the peace and quiet, then restarted it to continue on their way.
