add style

I'm just a bit unsure how to go about adding a style.
Could someone outline the steps?
How to copy an existing style to another name to work on?

under menu heading SETTING use option STYLES

scroll down to ADD NEW STYLE button ( it's quite near the bottom )

base on an existing template use FETCH SETTINGS FROM below that

simple enough.
How did I miss that?
