Ok, so I have been shoting for a while but have always been reluctant to shoot a wedding. But I finally bit the bullet and did my first wedding ever. It was a very laid back situation, but I wanted to do a good job. So, here are a few of the shots from the wedding. I hope you like them....I had a hard time posing the people because of the altar was a tad strange. Had a center riser and banisters that made it hard to pose people around...

Anyway, here they are....Formals first....

I know this could be lighter and I actually did print it lighter, I just for got to post the lighter version.....:)

Hi Lunajen!

Nice cake topper there! Nice shots in general. I would just boost the contrast and saturation in the two first ones a bit. They seem a bit flat to me. Otherwise, looks good for a first wedding!

Keep that shutter moving!

Thanks, I was working with a lens I had rented and I am seriously thinking of buying now, 28-75 Tamron 2.8. I thought the look of the picture were really nice because of that lens.

P.S> The Plate that is in the shot with the bouquet is their "guest signature book" . I really loved that!! Very unique and imaginative! Plus it made for a wonderful background. ;)

Good for a first, quite formal. Make the first ones brighter, and I don't like the one where the colors are messed up - in B&W it's good.

I think you did a good job for your first. The first two are a little dark, as Tim mentioned, and there is a bit too much space above their heads on the first, try cropping it down some. The kids one is cute, but I don't like the After #2 version. For #8, maybe try and sharpen the eyes, and work on the B&W conversion more. Good job on the cake topper, but crop off some of the top. Looks like a yummy cake! Maybe a vignette on #9?

Thanks guys, sorry for not posting any responses..I took a nap:). I do appreciate the C&C. I was playing with some of the shots for different effects. Wanted to see what played well and what didn't.

Does anyone recomend any plug i ns for Photoshop...?

I hate to say it but I am not for really messing with the photos much. Do them in either b&w or the hand tinted look and that is about it. I do like the diffused look on some pictures but i would like a filter for cross processing and some B&W effects and frames...
Anyone have any suggestions?

Jessiper....it was a delicious cake. :)

I dont think its "messing" with photos, and sometimes plugins can do more damage than just doing it yourself.

Simple things like levels, brightness , contrast, saturation can be corrected in RAW or in Photoshop to improve the look of the photos.

If you really want some plugins, that are pretty decent, fun and FREE! check this out.

Dont want to beat a dead horse but first set of shots need to be brigher, I think you did a good job on most of the B&W conversions. Im not realy a fan of the After #5

The Tamron you renented is a good lens, but I dont know if its "wedding grade" I own the lens too, and dont feel the AF speeds are fast enought for weddings. Im seeing the same thing my lens does too, it just seems a bit too soft for me sometimes. My Tamron lens was sent in for service for a check-up. Hopefully it comes back sharper =)

I have yet to shoot a wedding as the MAIN photog, so I think you did a great job.

And last one...

I adjusted the levels and added a vinette of a guasin blur with a feather ratio of 150 pixels.

Nice work. In number 2, the heads of the front two groomsmen are covering the guys behind them. But you've done a nice job of capturing some memories for the couple ... with the right PP they look great :-)

Some of them look out of focus. The cake shots are excellent, though.
