As I look at the 5D, XTi, 30d etc LCD screen, it seems to me that there aren't any more room at the rear to have any larger LCD screen say a 3". Just wondering if it is possible to even squeeze more in? I'm thoroughly happy with 2.5" with 230,000pixels. Any thoughts?

Personally, I don't want or need a larger LCD display. I'm using a 30D and it's plenty big enough. I don't use it like an iPod or mini TV. It's reference and I don't like to take a shot, look at the LCD, take a shot, look at the LCD. That's just nutty. I also wouldn't want to play for a larger screen. I just assume have R&D do into other features and development of new technology, larger and less expensive sensors and a host of other things. If the resolution improved that might be nice but I don't want a larger display.

I'm happy enough with the screen size, but what I'd really like is the option to display a full size histogram.

Good idea. So you mean that using the Info button would scroll like: Full Size image > Full Size Image with file numbers > Full Size Histogram and shooting info > Scaled Image and Histogram.

If that's what you mean then I think that would be useful.

You could always make a full size LCD and make it touch screen to get rid of those buttons that are currently in the way?

Now here's a smart man that's doing some thinking.:D

Generally speaking, I know what I've just shot and framed, so looking at the picture is pointless to me, but the histogram is so damn small, that I don't use it very often.

I completely agree with the sole exception of wanting to show subjects the picture I just took of them. There's a lot of power in that and I'm all for a nice crisp LCD without compromising other features.

Good point - the flowers and plants I shoot generally aren't too impressed when I show them their picture.;)

I would be 100% happy with a 2.75" or 3" screen that shows the RAW file not the jpeg thumbnail, and if I could change to Display:

Full Image
Full Image with shadow/highlight indicator and ISO/SS/f/stop.
Split Image and Histogram
Full Histogram

Give me that, and I'd never look back. Although.... a quick 100% crop button would be nice for chimping!

Full-size histogram would be great.
And I'd be dead keen on a 3" screen as well. Give it.

to me the size is fine.the bigger histogram would be really nice.i was reading a thread about the touch screen feature, and although very cool sounding, would it be all that great? How sensative do you make the pressure points?Too soft and youll accidently alter a feature. To hard and then it becomes a hassle and most people would then regret the idea and want to go back to buttons. That is a very on-the-fence feature that could backfire. And I doubt Canon wants something like that to happen.I personally dont use the LCD unless it is to look at the histogram, and like the point was made, showing others the shot you just took of them does have an impact.Personally I say make the buttons a little bigger, but again thats just me.The screen size doesnt really matter to me.

2.5 inch is enough to me. May be add more resolution into it.

In the environment I do most of my shooting (live concerts) a touch screen would be a total pain in the bum. I don't want to see Canon go down that path.

Since you mentioned it, I want a screen that can display the full gamut of AdobeRGB and less glare would be nice too.

Like I say to the missus. It's not the size that matters, it's what you do with it ;) . Unfortunately she keeps telling me a little bigger would be nice :( .
