I just orderd an after market bp-511. 1500mAh for $43.95 no shipping cost!!!!
Canon's is a 1100mAh.
If you can get 480 shots from the canon version, then this would mean you should get 654 shots from the after market battery.
480 shots from 1100mAh
480/1100= 0.43636363
0.43636363 * 1500(mAh)=654
I bought the Mach 1 speed charger, very fast, but feels kinda cheap. Batt doesn't heat up that much either.

On a side note...
I also use this same battery in my new Canon ZR 40 MiniDV Video camera. Don't buy the ZR 45mc or the ZR 50mc. You don't need the MC (memory card) cause we all know the stills SUCK. Although... the ZR 50 does have a 22x optical zoom where as the 40 & 45 have an 18x. Still much better than the ZR 10 & 20 & 25mc that only had a 10x.

The specs are the same, the casing looks the same the only thing missing is the canon sticker......
