Welcome to Part 44 of the World Wide Photo Day.
This week's theme is "Motion." Show us your interpretation of motion, shot from sun-up Friday to sun-down Sunday. Please limit your post to two pics out of the hundreds of keepers you're sure to shoot. ;)

I'll be the first to take this one this weekend. :)
Because I probably won't shoot anything any better than I shot today.
This is my brand new nephew, Landon. Born just after 12:30pm today.
Therefore, my first entry depicts the ''circle of life'. Definite motion there... It moves so quickly.
My second entry, my twin sisters looking at their new nephew with E-motion. ;)
I realize that its a broad interpretation of the theme, but I'm stuck at home now, babysitting my other nieces and nephews while my sister rests peacefully in the hospital. :p
Come to think of it.....if I get my camera out again around all the rugrats I have in my house, I could definitely get some 'motion' shots, LOL.
Oh if I only had their energy.

I know.... :o But I'm just so dang proud.....I had to make it fit somehow. And hey, it's the first time I've taken photos on a weekend in a really long time, LOL.
Your shot is beautiful Joayne.
Fits the topic perfectly with NO stretching. :p

I REALLY like your interpretation here. That's the kind of thinking that I like in peoples photography. Nice one :)

I was playing around with my chess set this afternoon. Then I realised I can cheat a little to put them on here (under chess moves!!). These aren't fantastic, couldn't really get the lighting the way I wanted.

The monkeys were moving so fast it was hard for me to keep them inside the frame with my 300 mm f/4 IS prime (on 5D).

Great start this weekend.
Cat - those definitely qualify. My youngest will turn one on Thursday, and I can fully attest to just how quickly things have moved since his birth. ;)
Joyane - beautiful shots.
Pete - also well done. It's the wide ranging interpretations of the themes that help make this activity great.
Tommy - You sure you just weren't looking for another way to sneak in a duck shot? Very nice shot - I can definitely picture the motion.

Haha I did take a couple duck shots today but none had motion no matter how I interpreted it.

A little bit of second curtain flash play. I had others with a little more motion out of Lightning, but none with as good an expression from the driver. :D

hmm looks like this WWPD is gonna go slow....
I have an idea but didn't read up on the WWPD thread over the weekend, and due to the way I want to stage my shot, the next available window is Monday shortly after sunset. So technically it'll be late. I'll shoot it anyway and if it doesn't fit the criteria here I'll post it somewhere else..

in this first one, my wife was teaching my 3 year old daughter, Sevara, the proper decorating motion with the piping bag - helping squeeze the bag.
BTW my wife has been teaching her cooking and baking for over a year (just as her mum did for her). Sevara mixed the ingredients, poured in the pan, cut out the centre (it's from an '18' shaped cake Suze is making for her friend), put the fruit and cream in the middle and then finally got to practice the decorating.

when she's not baking, Sevara likes to take in a challenging game of 'Beetle'!

I was really at a loss what to shoot for this challenge. The weather was crappy (freezing rain) and there's not a lot that moves in my apartment (I don't even have a clock with a second hand!). So I remembered a couple of threads here where someone was shooting smoke so.... here are my attempts at moving smoke!

Superb, Becca. I'm not worthy, I'm not worthy....
Since it's a slow weekend, can I please post a third shot? Not technically great, but full of movement.

Hmm.. was thinking about that on the way into work this morning.
How does "night-shooting" grab people?

Sounds great to me, forcast is for -15 at night so I will have to bundle up.
Have some good posibilities I have been wanting to shoot so this will be as good a time as any.

Or what about fill flash that was suggested a while back? For me there would be a better chance of shooting something with fill flash rather than night shooting as night shooting would require tripod which I am not going to drag along in public transportation.

well the bad news is that I don't have any connection at my house and therefore no pictures this week... the good news is that the telephone/internet guy will be at my condo between 12 and 6 on tuesday.. . So, after this weekend i'll be up and going again... I like the fill flash idea as well as night shooting.. so either one works for me I agree the fill flash would probably a little easier to work with but, whatever everybody wants to do... and I'll post my photos from the last couple of weeks on Tuesday if nobody minds?...
by the way, if you think you're isolated try living in a two stoplight town amongst about six feet of snow with freezing temperatures, with a population of 2,000 working a job that has yanked overtime for the foreseable future without any access to the outside world with the exception of CNN.. I am slowly losing my mind, will soon be one of those gray haired women in their husbands black plastic snowboots and bib overalls wandering around Ridleys buying canned peas by the case..

im up for night shooting definitely...
how about night shooting without a tripod, that'd surely force more creative shots due to having to use something solid to rest the camera on.... plus it solves tommy's problem :-p
