I myself like the FF more Wayne, maybe clone out the branch to the left if you wanted. Very nice capture though mate, damn fine looking lil birds those Blue's. Stunning

I will have to say that I liked the first one much more than the second one.
(The second one looks a little "tight" to me...

I always prefer landscape aspect over portrait. Not sure why, just feels right. Be a lot nicer if you could clone out that left branch, but with bokeh like that it'd be impossible to hide it.

The FF but as Mitcon suggested, I'll also clone the branch on the left and reduce the space on the right so the bird is not too centered in the frame.

Full Frame looks Best Buddy....Here's a quick and dirty adjustment. I'm sure some of the pros here could much better; but it's a sample..
I will remove it if you prefer.

Great job Ted. I need to learn that. I haven't been able to get the smooth bokeh cleaned up afterwards. :)

NO CLONING !
Patch tool....Bits and pieces to keep background colors similar, then a litlle blur to clean up any edges....
Thanks Gary..... Didn't mean to steal any thunder....But I keep picking your brain and reading and trying, and trying.....You get it...;)
The pictures to go along with the rest will come......Some day

I played around a bit and went very tight, even tighter than your second version, and I like it quite a bit.
Kill bokeh though, seems a shame to waste it by cropping. So while I'm not normally a fan of heavy modification I have to say that buybea's version is simply wonderful. (So if you ever remove a branch just don't tell me about it. :-) )

I like the uncropped version better. The crop feels too "tight". Nice fiery BG that compliments the blue plumage perfectly.

The original version works for me Wayne and the edit Ted did also makes me smile. (Yes the patch tool combined with the clone brush is a handy thing to use). Nice details and colors in the bird and the the bokeh is as good as it gets.

I like the idea of the closer crop, but the extra branch to the left could have been left out in the cropping area.
