Thanks to everyone helping make this decision.

Here are some early albeit a bit rushed results from a stream near my home.

Cheers

Lovely shots.
Was this hand held or on a Tripod?

You will not regret getting this lens. The nice thing about shooting with L glass is that the resulting photos require little or no post-processing.

Congrats! I'm sure you're going to have a blast with that lens, especially if you're into bird and nature photography.

Nice pictures, btw. :)

Thanks, the top one was on a tripod and the other handheld.

It will take some doing to learn to pan this thing across an airshow or race track.

You (and I) made a great choice. Just don't take it out in the rain like I did

Nice pics. So, my question is: do I buy the 100-400, or the 70-200?? Can't afford both.

Buy Both :!:
Don't eat for a month or so, just take pictures.
If you are into nature, get the 100-400. It rocks.

Real nice pics. Sharp as a skeeter's peter. That's why I want a 100-400 L
and a 70-200 f/2.8 L IS while your at it. All I need is about $5,000.

Yeah, you're qualified, provided you post a picture of a duck. You'll just have an "*" next to your name on the duck club list.

BTW, great pictures, all!
