I have lately been seeing alot of violations and problems in the for sale forum and would like to see if there are any others who feel this way.
Recently I had pointed out the fact that someone double posted in the marketplace and nothing was done. I had also recently sent a PM and agreed to buy a item for sale but because of a late reply of one day it was sold to someone else. I also think its a good idea to make it a rule that when you post a item up for sale that a price be posted. I see too many post with make me an offer which to me is just like posting up a feeler. If the seller is looking for the highest bid why not just post it up on ebay ?

If you see a for sale ad that violate the rules then you can use the report post http://photography-on-the.net/forum/images/buttons/report.gif to report it to moderators. Then someone will look at it and take appropriate actions.
As for putting a price on items and various other information. See here: http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showpost.php?p=1570612&postcount=4

Personally, I preferred the B&S before all the 'rules' as there never semed to be any more problems than there are now and I check it out many times a day. The more rules then the more violations ;-) Also, people can actually sell to who they like, however unfair that may seem. First come, first served is no fairer implicitely to someone deciding to sell to someone they know or who lives close by: depends how you look at things. I agree on the 'set a price' point rather than make an offer. I don't care if someone posts multiple adverts for multiple items. All this stuff isn't really worth getting into a sweat over tho' IMO.

I reported the violation and nothing was done and in fact the post was edited and all replys were removed. There was a reply from one member " not me" where he exposed the seller for going back on his word to sell to him because a better offer came along. That post was removed along with all the other replies. Why .. I do not know ? Seems there is some favortism going on here and things will not change in the near future as I can see it. As for the market place rules I did read them all and there was clearly a violation and like I said nothing was done so to further report any other violations in the future is pointless.

Well which is it? Nothing was done or the thread was edited and posts removed? Obviously the Mods did something, they just didn't do what you wanted them to do.
As far as "exposing" another member, that is not going to be condoned on POTN. Private differences should remain private

Nothing was done and the reposted thread remained. The original thread was edited and all replies were removed.

In other words what ever happens between a buyer and seller does not concern POTN so buyer and seller beware.

Exactly. A dispute between buyer and seller is a private matter between buyer and seller and should be resolved in private.

That must be the case ... and if one has a negative experience then I assume it is fair to post that in feedback section. I try to remember to feedback, sometimes forget, and have had only one problem here.

I like the buy and sell forum as is. I can't say I've never broken a rule but if so, I wasnt aware at the time. I think less strict is better. I've recently sold and bought quite a few items from there. A nice experience.

The Buy and Sell forums here have been great for me. No problems and it's free. What more could I want?
