Nice composition with perfect colors. It's true the DOF must be a little bit deeper, but it's not to worry about. Great job!

Yes---- This would put the top of the snow in focus, I do like the shot.

Maybe it's my monitor, but the snow washes out from overexposure. Maybe this could be corrected in Photoshop? Otherwise it's a good shot.

DoF looks very close to me - maybe a half-stop off, getting the front-most edge of the mushroom and the rear-most of the snow. It doesn't look off by much to me. Good shot.

Manncer, the snow looks fine to me - I think you may be seeing JPEG artifacts. PS histogram shows *very* little above 242 white.
