I love it! It's beautiful in B&W. It's full of emotion and expression. I just recently lost my grandmother and would have loved to have a picture like that!! Take lots together, pictures last a life time!!

Great shot. I love 'hand' shots, I think they convey so much.

As most of you here have stated about losing a grandmother. I am on the brink of that as well. Nana (pictured here) is very old and recently was diagnosed with cancer. The doctors have not given her long to live. I am not dealing with it very well, so I created this image to try to help my self deal with this. I am very close to her, she has always been my hero and my bigest fan.
I took several other photos of her on this same date. I know that if I did not do this for myself I would regret it for the rest of my life.
As photographers, its our responsibility to create a visual record of people. Caputuring emotions, love, hate, sadness, happiness, is that makes a photograph great. To me its the essence of being a photographer, the reason I want to be in this business, what its all about. I pride myself in being able to do that for other people and am happy that I was able to create something for myself.
