Hi all, I'm only a fledgling G1 user, and this may have already been answered, but I just need a quick answer for my question:

How do you get the camera settings data (iso / aperture / focal / white balance / mode etc ) that Pekka and everyone else displays in their online galleries? I would like to use this info to know what I did / did not do wrong on my shots.

I've read once how to do it before I actually got my G1, and cannot find info on it again. So please if someone can drop me a line on how to do this it would be greatly appreciated!

This forum is very useful!

Thanks in advance.

All that info is stored as EXIF data within the J-Peg file - most image editors will remove the EXIF data if you edit the file, so using something like the breezedownloader (which stores the EXIF data as a txt file with the J-Peg too) is very handy - as is breezebrowser which actually uses the EXIF data as you browse your pictures - have a look at http://www.breezesys.com

You can get the camera setting VERY easily through the Canon ZoomBrowser software that comes with the camera.
In the Image Library, highlight the picture you want.
In the bottom-right of the screen there is a tab "Show Attributes". Click this.
Click on "Camera Settings" and get the readings.

Hope this helps,
Carl
