HOW IMPORTANT IS THE WHITE BALANCE SETTING,I HAVE AN S50 AND QUITE DON'T UNDERSTAND WHEN OR WHERE TO SET THAT OR EVEN TO SET IT ALL,AND WHEN I DO SET IT WHAT AM I SUPPOSE TO SEE AS QUALITY IF ANY, AND WHAT IS THE WHITE BALNCE MAINLY USED FOR.

Firstly, there is no need to keep the cap lock on your keyboard when typing.

Unlike some early computer systems which would not recognise lower case letters when you used them, most humans much prefer mixed case messages as the brain can read much faster and easier mixed case than all upper case.

Also, all upper case is akin to shouting. There is no need to shout.

Not all light has the same spectrum. Sunlight is much different than the lowly 60 watt light bulb in a lamp in the house. The lamp casts an orange glow compared to the sun. The human brain compensates for this and we see a sort of balanced image. The camera can take guesses, but it's not really as forgiving as the brain. It will easily record a orange, blue, green or other tint in the picture depending on the light soarce. Use white balance to tell the camera how to create natural looking pictures (or how to screw up natural scenes so that they look unnatural...)

Also make sure you pick the right white balance setting or your images will be too orange or too blue or some other odd color :shock:
